The crowded streets of Indian cities are a story of mobility and aspiration. In a cacophony of screeching horns and mad traffic, there’s a scooter that’s silently won the affections of the masses – the TVS Jupiter. The humble yet mighty two-wheeler With sales of over 6.5 million – this unassuming yet distinguished two-wheeler has transcended the mere role of a means of conveyance and become a beloved member of countless Indian families’ daily lives. And now, TVS has pushed the popular Jupiter to a new high ground with the new Jupiter 110 and Jupiter 125, bringing revolutionary new features and redefining what everyday scooters are all about.

The new TVS Jupiter 110 – A Decade of Revolution

TVS Jupiter

TVS Jupiter Story The TVS Jupiter story started back in 2013 when it first emerged on Indian roads. More than 50 lakh units have streamed into homes around the country over the 11 years of its existence. Now, the 2025 model shows the most radical change yet.

The Jupiter 110 is new, and you can tell as much as the minute you stand in front of it. The utilitarian styling has been ditched for a sleeker, more up-to-date look that gets noticed. It’s first update since introduction and LED DRL strip with integrated turn indicators that flows on front apron is certainly a show stopper on the 2024-25 Jupiter 110. These “Infinity Lamps,” as TVS refers to them as, lend the scooter a premium look that doesn’t exactly scream “affordable”.

I recently hit the crowded streets of Delhi on this new Jupiter 110 and here’s what it’s like to ride. The scooter is more refined and responsive than ever. They’ve made quite a few improvements in build quality, with panels that fit together extremely tightly and switchgear that clicks in a precise, satisfying manner. Some nice touches, such as the glossy black finish on the front panel and the metallic badging, help to lift the case from utilitarian black to upmarket black.

The iGO Assist Revolution

Without a doubt one of the most interesting technical advances on the new Jupiter 110 is its iGO Assist system. This micro-hybrid system includes “an integrated starter generator, battery and a control unit” which work in unison to develop your ride experience in a myriad of ways.

I got to try them out during my test ride. When I came to a stop at a traffic light, the engine shut off automatically, then restarted – silently and instantly – when I twisted the throttle: No clattering starter motor grinding away. Doing so not only conserves fuel, but also promotes a more serene urban riding environment.

The system’s crowning glory, however, comes into its own when overtaking. The iGO Assist also delivers additional torque when the throttle is twisted to full, raising the power figure from 9.2 Nm to 9.8 Nm, something that is very useful in crowded traffic conditions. A 0.6 Nm increase on paper might not sound like much, but in action it gives that slightly more contribution just when you are trying to brutalise the opposition into submission.

One long-time Jupiter owner I spoke to about it, Rahul Sharma from South Delhi, was particularly impressed by this. You know Delhi roads, na – everybody is trying to just squeeze in somewhere. When you want to zip ahead safely, that extra bit of power makes a real difference,’” he told me with remarkable satisfaction.

TVS iGO Assist system is yet another example of this pragmatic approach to innovation: rather than developing a headline-grabbing but occasionally useless feature, the company has concentrated on refinements that directly and meaningfully improve the experience of everyday riding.

Jupiter 125: is More, Well, More!

If the Jupiter 110 is evolution of what is polished, the Jupiter 125 is TVS’ newfound language of – Zyada Ka Fayda. The Jupiter 125 has put a lot of attention to the riding convenience with segment first 2L glove box with USB charging port at the front and the All-In-One Lock that operates the entire mechanism in one lock including the fuel tank cap, seat lock, handle lock and ignition.

Throughout an entire week of testing the Jupiter 125, I was struck by just how deliberate every little thing was. And the front fuel-filling system does away with that awkward dismount to lift up a seat and refuel for instance. The huge 33-liter under-seat storage is not only greater than those of rivals – it’s actually useful, readily capable of gobbling up two helmets and more.

Ramesh Patel, a 45-year-old accountant who recently upgraded to a Jupiter 125, said he and his wife often drove his scooter. The large seat means everyone is comfortable, and as for the storage? Amazing! “Yesterday I went grocery shopping and everything fit under there.

It comes with ample amount of power – thanks to its 125 cc engine – without any jerkiness or surprises. It’s not made to get speed demons excited, but that’s not what it’s for. It doesn’t, however, but it does offer that perfect balance of performance and economy that means daily commuting is enjoyable rather than traumatic. Real world fuel efficiency was also mind-blowing in city and highway, 57.27 kmpl and 52.91 kmpl respectively – impressive numbers for the category.

The SmartXonnect Advantage

Both Jupiter models now get SmartXonnect versions which helps them keep up with the age. The system also allows “turn-by-turn navigation with voice prompt, Call & Social Media alerts on display, news and traffic alerts, weather updates and rain alerts,” among other features.

The remarkable thing is how they’re implemented though – they’re not gimmicks, but actual, genuinely useful tools that add to the riding experience. The turn-by-turn directions are clear and delivered at a sensible time, and the weather warnings have helped me avoid more than one sudden shower in testing so far.

Sarika Mehta, a young professional who commutes in Bengaluru on her Jupiter, finds these connected features really useful. I would sit down, take out my phone and brake to check directions. Now I just go by the instructions on the dashboard. It sounds like a tiny thing, but it makes my commute so much easier, and so much safer,” she said.

Into the Future: The CNG Frontier

In a move that showed TVS willingness to think out of the box, the firm introduced the first CNG scooter, at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. The concept TVS Jupiter CNG gets a 1.4kg CNG tank situated where the underseat storage goes in the Jupiter 125 and it is neatly concealed under a plastic panel.

This innovative concept has the potential to solve one of India’s greatest commuter challenges – escalating fuel prices. TVS claims the Jupiter CNG is capable of returning a stunning 84km/kg of CNG and gets equipped with a slew of tech including engine cranks, USB charger, LED headlamp along with TVS’ onboard Intelligo start-stop system for a bump in fuel efficiency.

And the placement of the required CNG tank also means Bamnagondi has to lose the generous underseat stowage that regular Jupiter 125 owners appreciate. The promise of significantly lower running costs however, makes for an appealing tradeoff for many budget-conscious riders.

This concept, that we hope see going into production by end 2025, reiterates TVS’s futuristic views and unconventional nature of introducing new features in the scooter world.

The People’s Side of Scooter Design

It is the seeming real knowledge of what real people need – the real people who will be using these scooters – that sets the Jupiter series apart, not just on paper or in marketing blurbs, but in every part of the design and execution of these rides.

The front glove box with USB charging acknowledges that riders have to keep their phones charged and at the ready. The segment-leading seat is a nod to the fact that Indians share cars among their families. The spacious storage capacity is in tune with the fact that scooters are not only for commuting but are also commonly used to buy groceries, carry school bags or to make daily runs.

There is even adjustable rear suspension which shows a design consciousness of the fact Indian roads can be all and sundry and riders should be able to adjust their setup as per the road.

This people-first focus is why the Jupiter continues to be popular. “This scooter is the best for India.”As Vikram Singh, an old hand scooter mechanic of East Delhi, put it: “I’ve been servicing all brands of scooters for twenty years. The success of the Jupiter is—it communicates that TVS actually listens to what common people want.

Narrative Value Proposition that Resonates

The Jupiter range is very well priced, affordable without being feature light. The TVS Jupiter costs between Rs 80,086 and Rs 92,437, while the 125cc version is priced between Rs 87,999 and Rs 98,827 and comes in a variety of variants and color options to cater to rang conserving buyers.

When you look at those price points against what you get – especially those innovative segment-firsts of iGO Assist, cavernous storage, and connected tech – the value is clear.

A Scooter with Heart

Till the end of the day, it’s not necessarily the feature or technical innovations or the successful pricing or a waiting period that makes the TVS Jupiter special, it’s the way one has managed to become a part of millions of Indian lives every day. For young professionals wading through the congested city and families making the weekly run to the market, to students going off to college and older riders visiting family, the Jupiter has been called upon as a trusted partner.

The 2025 versions of the Jupiter 110 and Jupiter 125 continue this tradition, retaining the trust as the basis, though offering a level of innovation that should further enhance the pleasure of owning both machines. And they are not merely conveyances but enablers of mobility, independence and convenience for millions.

With India’s roads changing and its cities growing, the TVS Jupiter is changing too – smarter, smoother and more stylish than before and packed with value through every dimensional ride. In flooded sea of options the Jupiter isn’t the loudest voice shouting back at you, but, rather listens the most to what it’s riders need.
